Regular Montly Events

Freshers’ Night

Hosted three times a year, at the end of February, June and October.

An introductory event, only for members who are new (or feel new). If you’ve only been to a few events, or none at all, or you joined two years ago but have never been active, come along! It will be just new folk and a couple members of the leadership team. It’s a great chance to meet some of your fellow writers and get an idea of how the group events work.

Meet & Greet

Hosted three times a year, at the end of February, June and October.

Before we begin another month of writing, sprints, and chaos, let’s get to know each other. All are welcome, no matter how long you’ve been here. A fun night of chat and games.

Plot Doctor

Hosted three times a year, at the end of February, June and October.

Do you know what you’re writing in March/July/November? Or are you torn between a few options? Or have no idea at all?

At our Plot Doctor night, everyone gets the chance to talk about their project and receive feedback, suggestions, and bounce ideas back and forth. Hopefully by the end of the night you are well-set to begin writing on the 1st.

Midnight Launch Party

February 28th, June 31st and October 31st

We will count down to midnight together so we can begin writing when the clock strikes 12.

TGIO! (Thank Gandalf it’s Over!)

Beginning of April, August, and December.

The challenge is over! You can relax and look back on everything you’ve accomplished with pride. The Thank God It’s Over party is a little celebration of those accomplishments, looking back at the best moments of the month we shared together.

Workshops

Every few months

Our group is filled with writers at different stages of the journey will to share their knowledge. Join us for workshops on genre, plot, character, writing a query letter and getting an agent!

*Don’t run during March/July/November

Skillshare

Once per month.

We’re a talented group, with a broad range of expertise, experience, and knowledge, and this event is the place to share them. Events change so check the calendar and the spreadsheet (on the Discord) for potential topics.

In the past we have had exciting titles like; ‘Designing Origin Stories Using Attachment Theory’, ‘Let’s Talk Swords (and Other Implements)’, and ‘How to Make Your Author Website’. If you have a topic that you’d love to share, we’d love to hear it! Anyone is welcome to present.

*Doesn’t run during March/July/November
