During the 2020 pandemic, we wanted an accessible way for people to remain as part of the writing community from their own homes. Discord also made writing events so much more accessible, so we chose to simply add in-person meetups on top of our online schedule, and we’ve been operating this way ever since.

1. Once ready, Download Discord.
   • For PC, use this link.
   • For iOS devices use this link.
   • For Android, use this link
2. When Discord is downloaded and open, go here. This is an invite link that will add the Server to your discord. After clicking, you will get the following pop up:

3. Click Accept Invite.
4. Once inside, you will be asked to read and accept the rules.

5. To accept, click the dropdown at the very bottom of the page, and select as shown below.

6. Once inside, you will have access to all of the channels. It can feel intimidating! But take your time to get to know each channel and their uses. I’ve highlighted the few we believe would be the best to start with.

7. The roles channel allows you to add the following tags to your profile:
   • Pronouns
   • Your country of origin/residence (or both)
   • The genres you write
   • Plenty more! Take a moment to read through and select the tags you’d like to be part of. This will ensure you get the notifications best suited to you. You’re also free to remove these at any time.
8. Check out our announcements channel to keep up to date with all our goings on. We update the calendar every Monday.
9. Finally, please introduce yourself in the introductions channel! We’d love to know your name, where your’re from, and what you’re writing. Can’t wait to meet you!
