These organisations support authors at any stage from professional, just starting out, trad published or self-published.

Association for Scottish Literature

For Authors

Promotes the study, teaching and writing of Scottish literature, and works to further the study of the languages of Scotland.

Creative Scotland

For Authors

Supports culture and creativity in Scotland as a development organisation, a funder, an advocate, and as a public body that seeks to influence others to increase opportunity and maximise the impact our resources can offer.

Federation of Writers (Scotland)

For Authors

A celebration of of Scottish writing across genres and all three of Scotland’s languages, English, Gaelic and Scots.

Historical Writers Association

For Authors

Provides professional and social support to members, and creates opportunities to meet with readers, fellow writers and enthusiasts for all things historical.

Public Lending Right 

For Authors

Provides published authors, illustrators and other contributors with an easy route to register for UK and Irish PLR.  PLR is a legal right to payment from government in both countries each time their books are borrowed from public libraries.

Scottish Association of Writers

Scottish BPOC Writers Network
